Fostering in the PNW
Our PNW fosters are the bridge between rescue and forever. Every two weeks, animals travel up from Texas—those selected by our medical and behavior teams who are ready for adoption and don’t currently have a foster home in Texas.
Once you’re an approved foster, our team can help matchmake the right pet for your home and lifestyle. If you’re not yet registered, please apply to become a foster before selecting an animal.
Have questions or want to learn more? Email pnwfosters@threelittlepittiesrescue.org—we’re here to help every step of the way.

Why Foster in the PNW?
Fostering doesn’t just change one life—it creates space to save another. When you open your home to a dog or cat here in the Pacific Northwest, you’re helping free up room in Texas for more animals to be rescued from shelters and the streets.
Every pet, regardless of breed, age, or medical needs, deserves a safe and nurturing place to land. Fostering gives them that—love, care, and stability during a crucial transition. Your compassion helps them heal, grow in confidence, and prepare for their forever family.
Doggy Day Outs in the PNW
Our fosters work hard—and sometimes, they (and their dogs!) need a little break. Not every foster lives in a busy city or has time for frequent outings, so Doggy Day Outs are a wonderful way to help. Borrowing a foster pup for the day gives them a chance to be seen, socialized, and experience new environments, people, and adventures.
Whether it’s a walk in the park, a coffee shop visit, or a pup cup run, these simple moments make a big difference in helping dogs build confidence and find forever homes.
If you’d like to take part or be matched with a foster dog for a day, reach out to pnwfosters@threelittlepittiesrescue.org. We’re also looking for a PNW Doggy Day Out Lead—a volunteer who can help organize these special outings!
We Love Our PNW Fosters
Our Pacific Northwest fosters go above and beyond—opening their homes, hearts, and weekends to help dogs and cats who’ve traveled all the way from Texas. You welcome them with open arms, dedicate your time and resources, and even show up at events to help them shine.
We know it takes extra effort when supplies aren’t nearby and support comes from hundreds of miles away, but you do it anyway—with heart, patience, and determination. Because of you, animals who once had no chance now have a soft place to land and a clear path to forever. Thank you for being the heart of this rescue and proving that love knows no distance.Note on Supplies
Unlike our Texas fosters who can pick up supplies directly from the rescue, our Pacific Northwest fosters are spread out across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and British Columbia—which makes it difficult for us to provide supplies locally. Because our rescue is based in Texas, transport buses are filled with animals, attendants, and drivers, leaving no room to send supplies up north. We also don’t have a storage location in each city to keep extra items on hand.
We completely understand that many local PNW rescues are able to offer supplies to their local fosters, and we understand that this is not ideal. We are always looking to find ways to better support our fosters in the future as we grow.
All medical care is still fully covered, and if you’re willing and able to provide your own supplies, we’re incredibly grateful—it makes a big difference. Many fosters are happy to loan items when needed, and if you’re facing financial hardship, our team will always do our best to help.
