Transport

Why are you transporting dogs from Texas?

Texas is extremely overpopulated with dogs and cats. Tens of thousands of healthy, happy, highly adoptable dogs and cats are killed every year, including young and infant puppies and kittens, in overcrowded shelters across Texas. Mass euthanisia is the only way to make room for the hundreds of animals that are brought in as strays and owner surrenders daily. Our goal is to solve this problem.

Three Little Pitties pulls animals from these deadly situations and gets them to safety. We place them in foster homes and give them time to decompress and receive proper medical treatment before adoption. Then, after mandatory quarantine and decompression, they are eligible to travel on our transport fleet to get fostered and ultimately adopted in the Pacific Northwest and Northeast.

What is transport?

When Three Little Pitties Rescue first started, we used flights to transport our animals to the Pacific Northwest. We have now evolved to having our own transport fleet with Three Little Pitties staff onboard. We are transporting animals out of state to safe foster or adopter homes in the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast.

Three Little Pitties Rescue prides itself in having safely delivered over 13,000 animals to families in northern states since 2018. Our transport fleet makes trips every two weeks. The fleet vehicles used for transporting animals contains secure, plastic crates equipped with beds, potty pads, and water bowls. Prior to loading, a USDA certified veterinarian evaluates the animals for health certificates, which is included in the transport fee.

On board, the animals are kept comfortable with air conditioning and heating, a potty station and constant observation by the attendants. All attendants caring for the animals undergo ongoing training, prioritizing the safety and comfort of the animal passengers on board. There are stringent protocols for disinfecting and handling, and all the animals traveling must meet two-week quarantine requirements. Three Little Pitties Rescue is experienced in providing quality care for the animals in transit and the team genuinely loves being a part of each dog’s or cat’s story. We send transport fleet every two weeks from our Friendswood office. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a USDA certified transport and approved by Doobert, a transport networking site.
