This Land Changes Everything: The Space Behind Every Life We Save

When we say this land is the future of Three Little Pitties Rescue, we don’t just mean someday—we mean right now.

Because even in its current state, this land is already shaping how we save lives, how we operate, and where we’re still being stretched beyond capacity.

Every department feels it. Every team member works within its limitations. And every animal that comes through our doors is impacted by what we do—and don’t—have room for.

This is the reality of rescue today. And this land is already beginning to change it.

Intake & Rescue: The Hardest “No”

Every rescue starts with a call, a message, or a moment that asks us to step in. A dog abandoned in a parking lot. A litter born outside with no protection. A shelter reaching out because time has run out. And in those moments, we are faced with one question:

Do we have space?

Right now, space is our biggest limitation.
Not compassion. Not experience. Not willingness. Just space. We are constantly making decisions about who we can bring in immediately and who we have to wait for—and those decisions are never easy.

Because behind every “not yet” is a life we haven’t been able to reach in time.

This land represents something powerful:

The ability to say yes more often.
To step in sooner.
To prevent suffering instead of reacting to it.

Medical & Clinic: Working at Capacity

Our in-house clinic is one of the most vital parts of our rescue. It’s where healing begins.

From emergency care to routine treatments, our medical team works tirelessly to ensure every animal gets what they need.

But right now, our clinic is operating at full capacity—every single day. Appointments are tightly scheduled. Critical cases are prioritized and there is very little room for overflow.

That means hard choices. Delays we wish we didn’t have to make. Moments where we’re doing everything we can within the limits we’re given.

With more space, we can expand our clinic’s capabilities—adding more treatment areas, increasing efficiency, and ultimately helping more animals, faster. Because in rescue, time isn’t just important.

It can be the difference between life and loss.

Foster & Placement: The Bridge We Depend On

Fosters are the heart of everything we do.

They step in when we need them most—opening their homes, creating space, and giving animals a soft place to land.

They help us see who each dog truly is outside of a kennel.
They help dogs decompress, adjust, and prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

But fostering doesn’t operate in a vacuum.

It depends on our ability to move dogs through our program.

When space is tight:

  • Intake slows down
  • Placements are delayed
  • Animals wait longer than they should

And every delay creates a ripple effect—impacting not just one dog, but many.

More space at our core facility means more flexibility across the entire system.

It means animals can move more smoothly from intake → to care → to foster → to their future.

It means less waiting—and more forward motion.

Behavior & Training: Room to Heal

Not every dog comes to us ready to step into a home. Many arrive scared, overwhelmed, or unsure of the world around them.

They need time.
They need structure.
They need space to decompress and feel safe again.

Our behavior team is dedicated to giving dogs that chance. A chance to rebuild confidence and create a foundation for success. This land gives us the opportunity to create something different:

Spaces designed for healing—not just holding.

Places where dogs can truly reset, rebuild, and become who they were always meant to be.

Transport: Changing Lives Across the Country

Every two weeks, dogs and cats leave our property and begin their journey to new homes across the PNW, Midwest, and East Coast. Transport is one of the most powerful ways we save lives. It connects animals in need with families who are ready for them—sometimes hundreds or thousands of miles away. But every one of those journeys starts here.

This land allows us to build a more efficient, more intentional pathway from rescue to transport.

So more dogs and cats can take that ride and more families can finally meet the one they’ve been waiting for.

The Bigger Picture: What This Land Means

Right now, we are doing everything we can with what we have. And what we have has already saved thousands of lives, but we also see what’s possible with more. This land is more than acreage.

It’s:

  • More animals we can say yes to
  • More medical care we can provide
  • More time and space for dogs to heal
  • More families we can connect with the right match

It’s the next chapter of this rescue.
And the impact has already begun. Now, we have the opportunity to build something that truly matches the scale of this mission—and the heart behind it.

If you’ve ever followed one of our stories…
If you’ve ever seen a transformation and wondered how it was possible…

This is how. This is where it starts.
